This session, best suited for grades 10 and up, covers a wide range of topics to help students and their families make informed academic and financial choices about post-secondary - before they spend thousands of dollars.

If you are in Grade 10, 11, or 12 - or have already started at college or university - a one hour, one-on-one session, might be all you need to answer your questions and help you feel better prepared about your post-secondary journey! 

Ask anything on your mind – here are some examples of the most commonly asked questions:

  • what can I expect when I get to campus? 

  • should I live in residence or off-campus?

  • how do I find scholarships and awards?

  • what if I’ve changed my mind about my program – is it too late to change?

  • what are the benefits of OSAP vs. student line of credit vs. RESP’s?

$175 per person (1.5 hour workshop)

Denise will fully explain the Ontario Government student loans (and grants!) program, including all the reasons why you should consider applying for this form of funding - from her experience working with both full-time and part-time OSAP applications, she will use her knowledge and experience of working with thousands of past OSAP files to ensure you understand how OSAP works - including when you should apply and how you might qualify for more funding!  One of the goals by the end of this workshop, is to have your OSAP application started.  She will also review the process for repaying your OSAP loans, including ways to pay it off faster, and possibly with no interest! This is a hands-on workshop, so come prepared to take notes and start/complete your OSAP application online!

Where Do I Find Scholarships?      $249

Learn how to do a deep dive to find the FREE money!  Looking for scholarships and awards can seem like an overwhelming task when you first start out.  From Denise’s experience working in the Student Awards and Financial Aid Office at a Canadian university for 15 years, she will share her tips and tricks to help you find the awards best suited for you!  Ashley has been the recipient of more than $175,000 in awards, scholarships, teaching assistant and research assistantships, so she has lots of tips to help you rise above the rest and move your application to the top of the pile!

You will leave the workshop with an awards essay started and suggestions on how to enhance it.  We will include pointers on how to keep organized while applying for various awards - and supply you with our custom spreadsheet to help you with this.

This is a hands-on workshop, so come prepared to take notes and search for awards online!

Resume/Awards Letter Review
$199 (per resume/letter)

Maximize your chances of getting a job (or award) with extensive feedback on your resume/letter.  You will receive a clean and professional looking template you can use over and over again.

There are often hundreds of resumes/awards letters submitted for each job/award posted - learn the tips and tricks of how to help yours rise up above the rest!

Ashley will work with your existing resume/award and feedback about the job/award you are applying for; this will help her create a strong and easy to read resume/awards letter.
